FREEDOM 2011
Freedom is Hull’s annual celebration of the arts which takes place at the beginning of September and aims to be one of the UK’s biggest events of the year.

It’s an exciting, contemporary event for residents and visitors that is unique to our region.  It helps promote Hull & East Yorkshire as a visitor destination and transform the local and national perception of Hull.  FREEDOM develops a sense of local pride and ownership for residents and creates a WOW factor event in Hull.

 

Building on a successful prequel in 2008, FREEDOM 2009 and 2010 brought an eclectic mix of entertainment that inspired all ages, drawing crowds of 150,000 residents and visitors.

 

Why support Freedom as a business?

- A sense of pride within the workforce that their company is supporting Freedom. Between 50%-60% of the households within Hull and East Riding have had a member of the family attend Freedom.

- Raises the profile of Hull, attracts visitors to the region and provides spectacular entertainment for its residents.

 - Provides a huge boost for the region’s economy, last year’s event generated £5.27million and attracted 150,000 people.

- Business Friends of FREEDOM is an opportunity for the private sector to become involved in Hull’s biggest event.
