We work with creative networks and organisations regionally, nationally and internationally to commission and develop new work.
We are a Commissioning Partner of the Without Walls Associate Touring Network, a group of festivals working together to extend the reach and benefits of the existing Without Walls programme in areas where there is low engagement with the arts, bringing high-quality outdoor work to diverse audiences across England.

IN SITU – The European Network for Artistic Creation in Public Space
As one of three UK representatives of the IN SITU network we collaborate with 23 other European programmers to nurture artist development and support artists to develop new forms of art in public space. The core IN SITU partners have been working together since 2003 and we joined the network in 2016; the network provides opportunities for high quality artist residency opportunities for artists, including those based in Hull, in worldwide locations, and bespoke mentoring support for artists and projects. As a member we work to raise the profile of UK artists internationally and maintain Freedom Festival Arts Trust as a thought leader in the international arts sector, and positioning the annual Freedom Festival as a distinctive, world-class arts festival reinforcing the city of Hull’s cultural status, nationally, in Europe and beyond.
Coasters Touring Network
‘Discover world-class culture around the coast of England!’
The coast holds a unique place in our hearts and minds – a place of eccentricity and fun; where society’s rules become a little relaxed; where international cultures have mixed for centuries; where the borders of art and entertainment seamlessly merge.
A dozen of the country’s leading coastal arts organisations are working together to support the development and presentation of world class circus and street arts tat arts festivals around our wonderful coastline. Spectacular, innovative, ambitious… amazing, you’re guaranteed to see some world-class performance around the coast this summer.
Coasters will create a unique, sustainable partnership of coastal organisations working to provide excellent, accessible arts and cultural experiences to local communities and visitors.
Global Streets transform communities by bringing the very best international outdoor arts to towns and cities across the country where there is low engagement with the arts.
Freedom Festival Arts Trust alongside ten Global Streets partners, support and enable the creation and presentation of extraordinary participative international work which brings together and gives voice to people in Hull, Hounslow, Birmingham, Doncaster, Barking & Dagenham, Liverpool, Woolwich, Slough, Leicester and Luton, connecting their local stories with extraordinary participative outdoor performances by international artists.
