Lockdown Doorsteps

Jason Shipley and The Warren Youth Project

Lockdown Doorsteps is a photographic collection of images taken by Jason Shipley of Hull residents supported by the Warren Youth project during lockdown.

The Warren Youth Project wanted the people they supported during lockdown to have a keepsake from this time as a reminder of their individual resilience and fortitude. Documentary photographer Jason Shipley captured more than 800 images. This exhibition is just a sample from that collection.

Born into a working-class family on Hessle Road in the 1970s, Jason’s career has been dedicated to capturing images that give a ‘voice’ to those who can’t speak for themselves – such as victims of FGM; rights campaigners in Africa; and the homeless.

This work was made possible thanks to the support of The Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Arts Council England.
