21 Remarkable People.

And several others of passing interest.

presented by Mark Copeland

Come with us on a guided tour around a pop-up gallery that has bizarrely appeared in the closed Hull Maritime Museum...

How did it get there? No-one knows!

Your guide will show you fine portraits, photographs and heirlooms, of 21 Remarkable People drawn from a voyage of discovery through the artists family history...

Along the way you will meet kings and queens, showmen and show-women, wise women, invisible men, seafarers, protestors, a clairvoyant, a brace of twins, a wet nurse and a reprehensible angler (with minor appearances from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Phineus Taylor Barnum)...

Amongst the many wonders, there are tales of tattooing, taxidermy, witchcraft, UFOs, exorcism, shipwrecks, mermaids, cat-fights, fish and birds – lots of birds.

The stories are so remarkable - can they really be true?

Tours Daily at 12.00, 16.00 and 19.00 (not Mon 23, Tues 24 or Tues 31 August)
