Plan your Freedom journey

Walk, bike, ride or drive your way to Freedom Festival

Walk your way to Freedom

Hull is a flat city and with everything in such easy reach it’s perfect for walking. Try the Walkit App to find the best routes around the city. Our festival map will help you plan your route around the event. Freedom Festival is all about exploring, you're encouraged to turn a corner and explore a new area of the city. Who knows what you'll find.

Bike your way to Freedom

Why not ditch the car and get on your bike? As Hull’s such a flat city it’s easy to ride your way around, and that way you’ll get to see even more incredible performances taking place across the city. There’s a Bike Hub at the interchange if you fancy hiring a bike for the day and plenty of cycle paths and bike parks to make it super-easy.

Driving & Parking

Hull is accessible from the UK’s motorway network, connecting with the M62, M1, A1, M180 and M18. For information regarding train, bus and coach check out the Visit Hull and East Yorkshire website.

If you're planning on driving into the city, we recommend that you check out road closures in advance and pre-book your festival parking with our official partner APCOA, at King William House, in advance for £2.50 a day. You can pre-book your parking here and use the code FDFDAY

Bus and Train

Hull's Transport Interchange is located in the centre of the city and is in easy walking distance to where performances are taking place. The Pod is located in the interchange where you can pick up a Festival programme and get directions from Hull's friendly Volunteers.

Transpennine Express connects Hull with Leeds and Manchester, while Hull Trains provides a direct service to London.
