Access at The Awakening

At Freedom Festival Arts Trust, we care passionately about providing enjoyable experiences that are accessible to all.

Our friendly team of staff and volunteers are on hand to offer any assistance you need before and during our events.

Outdoor shows and installations are naturally relaxed, welcoming all to feel comfortable whilst enjoying the event.

At the Awakening, all sites and shows are:

  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Assistance dog friendly
  • Where applicable, have viewing areas with seating (please see individual event pages for details) 
  • Include information about blue badge parking and accessible toilets
  • Are Text free (excluding Joanna Walsh: Maritime Riddles. Gijs von Bon:NYX)

Accessible Toilets:

  • Trinity Market will be open late during Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March for the Awakening. There is a Changing Places Unit available and this can be accessed using a radar key. Entrance is available via Trinity House Lane.

 Accessible Parking:

  • Blue badge parking bays are located on South Church Side, Market Place, Hull, HU1 1RR.
  • Albion Street car park is open until 11pm daily. Accessible spaces are marked, and parking is free after 6pm daily.
  • Blue badge parking is also available at Lowgate car park.
  • Designated blue badge parking spaces are on Levels 2, 3 and 4 of Princes Quay. The car park has two large lifts that allow access to any parking floor. 
  • There are several blue badge parking spots along Guildhall Road
