This is a walkabout performance and will move around the areas indicated.

The Orchestra de La Menagerie aims to entertain, provoke, and cause chaos through any crowd of people or busy street, with their music and dancing.

Their larger than life, deconstructed appearance, is at odds with most urban or green field site surroundings. They could have stepped out of a computer game or be children’s toys that have come to life for the day.

They are reminiscent of Commedia Dell'Arte, roving vagabonds, and wandering minstrels.

With an alchemic music box and various percussion instruments, they are having fun enjoying their own party procession. Join them winding though the festival, be infected by their enthusiasm and joy.

This is some new work by Apus Productions, building upon over 15 years of producing street theatre, oversized costume, and roving walkabout entertainment that tour internationally.

Cobbled together with found objects, cable ties and old coffee sacks, this bonkers bunch of larger-than-life animals celebrates DIY culture. In this era of austerity and economic struggles, artists often make do with limited resources and lots of imagination. These characters demonstrate how wonderful things can be created from scrap resources like packaging materials, aluminium car body repair mesh and spray paint.

In an ever-increasing world where global resources are in decline, we need to be resourceful, modest, and inventive to minimise our impact on the environment. These animal characters will hopefully draw our attention to the pollution caused by excessive consumption and environmentally unsafe manufacturing processes. The effects of which, upon the planet, that in turn destroy natural habitats and threaten endangered species.

Spike, Slither, Squark, Patch and Bounce are a joyful bunch of roving, mad-cap, amateur animal musicians, poking fun at the establishment while celebrating the joy and freedom in music and dance.

Apus Productions are an established street theatre production company and have been touring walkabout street theatre since 2007.  Directed by Liz Dees who studied at the London College of Fashion, with specialist skills in costume design and construction, prop making, as well as large scale outdoor street theatre and carnival costume and puppetry.

The team at Apus create performances that combine street theatre, experimental costume design and innovative lighting and sound technology. The performance team and visual artists aim to be original, inspiring, entertaining, and professional. They specialize in interactive performance involving public engagement, allowing the audience to forget themselves for a while and be happy.
