The City of Hull Band will entertain the crowds with a program of popular brass band music. Whether you prefer traditional brass band marches, film music or something a little more modern, there will be something to suit whatever your musical taste may be. The City of Hull Band are the only Championship Section Brass Band in East Yorkshire, performing and competing at the highest level. The band was formed in 1989 as there was at that time no adult Brass Band within the City boundary.

Beginning as a 4th Section band, it progressed in almost consecutive years through the sections, achieving Championship status in 1996, where it regularly competes against the likes of Black Dyke Band, Brighouse and Rastrick and The Grimethorpe Band. The band, which is a registered charity, performs throughout the UK and has undertaken foreign tours. The band regularly supports other local organisations providing concerts to raise funds and is very excited to be involved in The Freedom Festival in 2023 for the first time.
