Hull’s International Carnival returns for its third year. Louder and more vibrant than ever, the community carnival, which was launched in a local community centre three years ago is going from strength to strength.

Celebrating the different cultures and traditions of the city it is now a firm Freedom fixture as part of Sunday’s celebrations, step onto the streets of Hull city centre for a homegrown party parade. Follow this colourful extravaganza into Zebedee’s Yard where the carnival atmosphere will continue with community music, DJs and fantastic live bands.

In preparation, the Hull International Carnival Centre is now open, located at the Hull Afro Caribbean Centre on King Edward Street.

Come take part in workshops, and learn new skills from drumming, puppet making, costume making to dance and brass instrument playing. Places are limited so you’re advised to book on to workshops by calling the carnival hotline on 07916 920 808
