Full Tilt Aerial: Substratum

Commissioned for Freedom Festival 2018 by Full Tilt Aerial, Hull College was the stage for Substratum a multimedia spectacle, which combined acrobatic dance with 3D projection.

Set to a contemporary electronic score, performers moved between worlds, walking, leaping and flying off walls, while the surface of the building was transformed between the elements earth, water, space, light, and air.

As seemingly solid surfaces shifted – Substratum explored how a changing environment affects how we move within and experience our world.

Hypnotic and arresting, it explored boundaries between bodies and bricks, gravity and technology and certainty and impossibility.
