Make Noise DJ Collective

Make Noise are a DJ collective who found their start as a non-profit, improving safety at gigs and visibility for women and non-binary people in the local music scene. Playing eclectic Pop bangers, Eurotrash and weird glitchy nonsense - Make Noise continues DJing as a celebration of their past work, and how far the Hull scene has come. They are often invited along to play at various events and are regular favourites at local DJ night The Residents Association due to the high levels of fun and energy they bring with them when they DJ.
Throughout the weekend Make Noise will play between performances on the music stage at the performance pitch.

Avis

Avis are a 4 piece Indie Rock band based in Hull who aim to make ambitiously creative music while still writing something that feels familiar. Looking at the 4 of them, you wouldn't think that this bunch of misfits would make the music that they do and despite their youthful appearance Avis have a knack for writing incredibly catchy songs and, with only a few live performances under their belt, they’re already beginning to draw crowds of loyal fans to their shows and have even been compared to The Smiths in a recent review!

Bizzarrefae

Bizzarrefae is an anti-pop/electro/punk artist based deep in the heart of the woods and can be found dancing with the fae under the light of a full moon. Their songs range from empowering heartfelt ballads about love and loss to furious bursts of energetic rage and chaos that pick apart the patriarchy and capitalism and captivate, shock and draw in audiences in equal measure.
They are a champion for under-represented genders and are keen to talk about mental health issues, sexuality, religion and capitalism whenever they get the opportunity.
After only a handful of gigs they were invited to support Delilah Bon on their UK tour and played alongside similar artists such as Alt Blk Era, Alyx Lynn and Fear Of Marko.
They may have been labelled controversial at times but it’s a badge they always wear with pride.

Jodie Langford

Jodie Langford began as an unapologetically Northern spoken word artist with a unique and passionate message who quickly became the go-to voice for the youth within her hometown of Hull.
Coupled with her unique voice comes an incredible talent to turn observations of the world around her and her personal experiences into relatable, dry and often funny lyrical content that tackles everything from downing pints, dead-end jobs, the government’s treatment of young people to more personal relationship issues. Her message is universal and everyone can find something to latch on to in each of her songs.
Her debut release ‘I Miss It’ dealt with the feelings everyone shared after being cooped up inside during the Covid lockdowns, the silly things we all missed on nights out with your mates and it became an instant hit garnering plays on BBC 6 Music.

Candid Faces

Candid Faces are an Indie Post Punk outfit made up of fiery front-woman Liz Shaw, energetically boppy guitarists Joe Beeks and Taro Keeitch, untameable drummer Kurt Jackson and moustached stallion Ben Hales on bass.

They specialise in writing catchy songs with hard hitting instrumentals and a proper pop groove which has been often described as "trash pop" and are currently one of Hull’s finest live acts, hotly tipped to go on to great things in the future.

Trouser Dress

This is Trouser Dress, a young genderqueer artist writing songs about random thoughts, feelings and life experiences as they come. Influenced by Lontalius, Cavetown and Dodie, they have been writing their own songs since 2017, but since the beginning of Covid, they became more confident in their original music and began the process of recording them. After the huge success of their catchy debut release “Devil Town” and a run of incredible confidence boosting live performances, they are now firmly established as a voice for the voiceless on the local scene.
